New Years Eve

Rosemary~ Thank you so much all of you, every single one of you dear friends, for the emails and cards. Thank you very much for your kind thoughts and prayers.

It makes a big difference to have a silly Pierro around. He is the most incredibly adorable kittyboy ever, ever. He is a clone of Caesar.
These past days we have spent remembering and looking at photos of Caesar and Princess. It is nice to look back over sooo many fun years of adventures.

Pierro wants to change this bloggie and make this his own Happy Place!
we will work on this together and make his bloggie super happy!

Pierro:
Hi kitties!
Thank you for being my friend.
I had a very fun Christmas and got some cool mancat toys and stuff.
look at this nifty scratch mat I got!!
I love it and I keep it in my new room upstairs.
I will show you my new room next time

Thank you for all of your purrrs
mom is going to help me visit all of your blogs soon.
Headbonkies for a happy last day of 2009
and happy headbonks a super dooper headbonking 2010!

A happy New Year! Grant that I
May bring no tear to any eye

When this New Year in time shall end

Let it be said I've played the friend,
Have lived and loved and labored here,

And made of it a happy year.

Happy Christmas and headbonks

Rosemary:
Greetings lovely kitties and people!
Thank you so much for being our friends and being so kind to us.
Your caring thoughts and prayers and gentle purrrs are very comforting.
I printed out those tributes from your blogs. Those will be cherished and saved forever!
Princess will be greatly missed around here.

Look at this adorable fuzzy photo of Lizzie with Princess waaaaay back in 1991 when they were both kittens! Lizzie is 22 now!
Last Friday Lizzie found a lot of wonderful old pictures that I would love to show you now and then.
I have to laugh. I do not know how I did it with two little active girls and two wild very athletic and mischievous kittens way back in the 90's

I am certain that when Caesar went to the bridge in January 2008, he felt completely sad and sorry for me. Caesar was my little helperboy. I was so crushed, so shocked, so heart broken I did not think I could ever have another kitty in my life.
The idea of another kitty was just impossible.
Caesar was irreplaceable!
One day in March 2008 I was reading the Washington ComPost newspaper and picked up one of the sections with the comics and the classified section just fell out onto the floor and there, right there was an ad for Cornish Rex kittens. There was a website listed and I went to just look at the kittens and fell completely and instantly in love with Pierro. Now this is crazy, I had to go see that kitty. Well, you know the rest of the story and I am quite certain that Caesar had his paw in that almost two years ago . . .

Well, now Remember Stormie?
Well, Stormie's mom, L, really had some wise thoughts about Caesar and Princess.
She thinks that Caesar has probably been calling Princess for some time. Princess was getting a little wobbly and she was getting picky about her food, feeling awfully tired, even coming up with some silly ideas.
A few times she was having a wonderful day and decided to start climbing on furniture, walking across the back of the couch, wobbling happily and confidently, stepping onto narrow edges. Going up and down the stairs was worrying me too. She was careful, but I worried greatly if she lost her balance in any of these situations, well, there could be disastrous trouble if she fell...

Caesar: Prinnnnie, curlysister, you are really taking a lot of risks there. You are not a kitten anymore. Why do you keep going up and down the stairs like that? You are going to hurt yourself. Stop walking on the furniture, you are going to break a hip, girl!

Caesar: Prinnie sweet littermate, when are you coming? I miss you.
I miss cuddling with you

Caesar: you are eating baby food now? BABY food?

Caesar: Princess you are looking so thin, so frail, so tired.
Please come to me. Please come please come please come please come ...

Stormie's mom was right.
Caesar's pleading became louder and louder, and more and more persistent.
I think he finally convinced her that it was safe to come to Rainbow bridge.
I think Caesar is pleased that Pierro is settled in and protecting our hearts.

I really had the feeling that Princess was not having so much fun anymore. She has relied on me so much in the past few months. I worried when I left the house.

Those last days. *sigh* She got sooooo much love, so much care and attention. She knew it was okay. I told her I loved her a thousand times.
I called the vet twice, thinking perhaps Prinnie would need help, but her last day, Wednesday, Princess was very calm, very comfortable. It was a beautiful sunny day and she laid on her side. She was soo beautiful. Her breathing became more and more shallow during the day, but there was no distress. I kept her warm and comfortable. she was not interested in any food but I did give her drops of water.
She passed so quietly and peacefully at 3:30AM on Thursday morning.

I thought I would share that with you.
Princess has always been our beautiful flower. I have so many memories of these two kitties. They grew up with my girls.

We are doing well here. Grieving takes time however I feel very fortunate to have been able to participate in Prinnie's last days, her last hours.
Lizzie did not make it home, but while my husband went to William and Mary College to move her out on Thursday, I was able to give Princess a lovely sponge bath (even blowdried her curly furs) and rested her in the most beautiful basket with all of her favorite blankies.
Then we got a snow storm, Two feet of snow. It was lovely.
We kept Prinnie in the very very cold garage. I made a beautiful table covered all in pink and prettiness, a big pink bow, and flowers too. I placed her basket out there so Lizzie could visit her any time and give her thousands more kisses.
On Monday, we took Princess's body to Sunset in Alexandria. They were very nice to us. We picked up her ashes on Tuesday. I am seriously thinking of putting her ashes in with Caesar's.
I sense they need/want to be together.
I wish all of you a happy peaceful Christmas.
God has been so good to us.

Pierro:
Are you ready for Christmas?

I know I am going to get a lot of wonderful things for Christmas - like LOTS of toys!

I have a lot of stuff to tell you. I hope I can blog a lot.
Happy Christmas!
I wish you peace and headbonkbonkbonkies

*Princess* ~~ April 15, 1991 ~ December 17, 2009

Here is my gorgeous Princess yesterday afternoon.
She was comfortable and purring lightly.
She is a precious flower, so pink and white.
She has always been our beautiful girl
She received so many kisses, and pets, and all of your purrrs and prayers.
God was so good to us.
This is truly the end of a delightfully wonderful era.
For Princess, it is the beginning of peace, and rest, with her brother Caesar.
She is truly in Heaven

Rosemary:
Princess died very comfortably and so lovely and peacefully very early this morning.
18 and a half years of so many, so many beautiful memories.
I have been able to remember fondly so many of them while nursing her this past month.
My heart is broken.
Princess is with her dear brother and playful littermate, Caesar.

I won't be blogging for a long time
Pierro and I will come around and visit blogs
I promise
I love all of you so much. Such great and faithful friends all of you are.
Thank you so much for your friendship, your caring.
I have not been able to visit your blogs for a long time.
This is the end of a long very long wonderous adventure with Caesar and Princess
My heart is hurting.
I only ask, please, for your prayers
Lizzie did not make it home in time
I know she will be crushed
Again, thank you from the bottom of myheart.
All of you are the best most faithful kindred spirits and friends imaginable.

Matthew 11:25-30
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

For death, Now I know,
is that first breath

Which our souls draw when we enter
Life,
which is of all life center.

Thank you, most merciful God, for Princess
Thank you for your guidance
and giving me the strength

Mancat Monday and an uppiedate on Princess

Pierro-
thank you kittie friends for coming over and playing with me. dad is fun but he does not always throw the mowsies the way I like and mom just wants to kiss me or tell me to clean up my toys. Sometimes she calls me and I do not come.

I just pretend I do not hear her and play with my stuff.
You can click on any of my pictures to biggify and see how handsome I look
and the ones below are nice, but I am a handsome mancat!!

Princess is stable. Mom says she is pretty sure that Prinnie's kidneys are starting to fail, so she is giving her fluids every day. Prinnie does not like getting subq's. daddy has to help hold her or she tries to leave like she has a bus to catch. She gets to eat baby food hams all the time now! and sometimes when she does not feel like eating mom puts the food in a syringe and forces Prinnie to eat a little bit.

see, look at her... what a Princess she is.
Prinnie is purring. She seems a little confused, sometimes she acts like she is zoned out, but only for a few seconds. Her room is very warm with that heater, our house is cold.
She likes her room with the gentle light and the pretty classical music on the radio.
Mom put her litterbox really close by.

Princess does not have to walk far to do anything.
See, she really is a Princess!
Mom says since she has been getting this NaCl subq fluids, she seems to be a little more alert.

Our neighbors have a crazy decoration house. What do you think?

They go crazy every year and cars come down our street. It is quite an extravaganza.
Well.... next door looks really fun, but can you imagine taking all of that down and putting it away in January? No, me neither.
This is our house. we like drab.

Happy headbonkie snappy Monday

Frootbat Prinnie is sick Friday ~~update on Princess

Pierro:
Hey kitties. Prinnie has been feeling kind of crummy and mom is going to take her to the vet today. She eats okay but she acts pretty bad,,, no no not naughty, she just has her eyes half shutted and she looks hurtie. She is really quiet.

We are so sorry we have not been visiting any blogs.
Mom has been waiting on Prinnie hand and paw.

Please purr okay?
headbonks from me.

ps: I am bored and would love to have a playmate today.
can you comeover? Today I want to find all 100 of my mousies and put them through

the bottom of this door that goes to the basement. I am not allowed behind this door but the mousies should go there. There is a special message on the door you can click to biggify.

uppiedate on Prinnie:
Prinnie did not have to go to the vet. the vetlady ordered some NaCl fluids for mom to give her subq and some red bad tasting stuff to make her tummy do some work. Mom picked these things up late last night.
She had some medicine for her tummy (she was clogged up) and she just had a poopie that looks like a perfect specimen for a poop. She stunk up the whole house. Now she is resting in her bed.
Mom will attempt to give her fluids today. She gave her some fluids last night... but Prinnie does not have any FAT so getting that needle in just right is hard. Mom thinks she got about 50 ml in.
Thank you soo sooo SOOOOO much for the purrrs.
Prinnie is stable.

she seems a little bit 'zoned out', very quiet and weak. she is staying in her paradise room today where it is very sunny and warm.
Thank you friends. Blizzkollegegirl will be home on Thursday and we will hope and pray that Prinnie continues to just improve and be comfortable.
Mom says Your thoughts and prayers at this time are very very comforting.

Whitecat Wednesday

Happy Wednesday kitties.
I hope all of you are well.
I have been spending most of my time in my own room this week
It is too cold in this house and my paradise room is well heated and very sunny
I just call mom and she comes running.
I am also very tired of cat food, YUCK! Now I demand baby food.
I get baby food every day now.
Love and purrrs to all of you

Frootbatty Friday

Pierro:
Happy headbonking Friday
Fridays are my busiest day I think. I have a lot of things to do
I help mom and dad around the house, dad even lets me come into his room when he is having a phone meeting. I know how to be extra quiet.

Princess:

I hope your Friday is peaceful and restful - and by that I mean that you do not have a little boy kitty barging into your very small cozy bed, and following your around, and "helping" you eat your food.

I am hoping.

perceives

we did not get turkey, but we DID get macaroni and cheese.

Blizzie was home from kollig but we did not see her, she hid in her room reading fat books and typing on her compooter, every now and then she would whimper about all of the skul werk she has.

Frootbat Friday

Princess:
Well, it is great to cuddle with Pierro today - REALLY!
It is cold here.
Yesterday the family went away at 11:00 and came home at 7:00 when it was dark.
Mom put me in my room because she did not want me to get cold or Pierro gets kind of wild sometimes and mom does not want me to fall down the stairs.
I like my own room sometimes...

Pierro:
not fair. mom doesn't always trust me.
I just want to wrestle with a kitty

we hope all of you had a really great Thanksgiving.

Pierro:
Today it is raining a bit and mom is out skating.
So, I am just hanging around the house with Prinnie and daddy.
I hope all of you have a really nice day today - look at Prinnie, she looks like she just has a head and no body meowww

Whitecat Wednesday

Prinnie:
Oh it makes me happy when I get visitors. I am so glad that you come and say hello.
Mom has been busy worrying about the upcoming holidays and trying to do 14 things at once.
Pierro and I find this very annoying because that is less computer time for us to visit.
we will try to visit all of you soon.

Here, all is well. I have been eating just great and put on some weight. I do not look so frail, huh? Blizzie comes home from kollig next week, and we are excited about that,
even though she has a bunch of huge papers to write.
I am planning on helping her with those papers.

Frootbat Friday

Princess:
I am sorry we have not been visiting very much. Mom has been very busy.
She says I am high maintenance now. I am very demanding and need an escort whenever I want to go upstairs or downstairs (which I like to do quite often: to visit my many cozy beds) because Pierro likes to tackle me and wrestle with me.
I also am sort of demanding. well...
I am 18 and a half. If I want macaroni and cheese right now, I mean right now!!
Pierro:
Mom says I am high maintenance too.

Mancat Monday

Pierro:
Halloween was scary, don't you think?
I hid in mom and dad's room the whole time.
Whew, now it is November!
I need a new super cape!

Yep, I am still wearing the orange lion's mane.
My booboo is getting better.
I love this soft collar though. I can sleep perfectly

Frootbats and flowers

Pierro:
yep, I am still wearing my superlion collar.
It is orange and mom says it is easy to find me.
yeah, mom thought about making a pumpkin face on the collar and sewing a little light brown stem sort of hat for my head, with some muted green leaves attached.
"no mom, don't do it" I am glad she did not do it.
she has been really busy.

Prinnie is always eating. I think she is getting bigger than me, maybe

I hope you have a very bonkie-bonkie week-end
