UPDATE on the hospitalization of Miles and Pierro

Hello and greetings from Rosemary
I just spoke with Dr Leonard at the LifeCentre. She said the blood tests on both boys came back very good, nothing yet to suggest kidney damage.

It was thought earlier that Pierro could come home after this good report today, mostly because 1. it was presumed most likely that he did not eat any of the flower petals and 2. because he becomes anxious and that causes his heart murmur. However, the doc said that both boys are quite comfortable, sitting at the front of their "house" and observing what is going on in the room and engaging with the medical staff. They are taking the IV fluids well, and tolerating the charcoal treatments, So - she suggested Pierro stay another night with them. I was disappointed but I know he is in good hands. I also think that even though the boys are of course in different "rooms" they are right next to each other, so they sense that they are together in this ordeal.
I will not go to Leesburg and visit them as I believe this might cause renewed anxiety for them. The medical staff in the back and also the front desk personnel are very interested in them and because they are cornish rex and quite handsome they are getting a lot of encouragement.
I also think it is a good thing not to go there to see the boys today because that LifeCentre is very busy with all sorts of emergencies and with that there are people that are very distraught and it is a really frightening place to be.
I do not need to be there.
Thank you all of you for your wonderful and encouraging prayers and purrs and hopeful thoughts.
It is very quiet here - I miss my boys terribly
the box fort is quiet, there are no tussles at the satellite office, there are no
crackling chases through the tunnel, Pierro is not laying in the sunny patch by the window and Miles is not looking for excitement in the closets, cabinets, my sewing things, the bathrooms, or taking shoe liners out of shoes.
I am hoping for continued recovery
again, thank you so much

Rosemary, I'm in tears of happiness over your little guys' good news; praying hard that they are fit as fiddles and home soon.
How frightening, and to think I let Sweet Pea and Salem fool around with the calla lilies Scott brought home while I took photos...never again!
The Horde is sending purrs.

I literally just finished reading your last post when I saw your update! Paws crossed that everything continues to go well and no damage was done by the lilies. That is so scary for you, and my human's heart just dropped when she saw that Miles puked up lily parts!

I am sending purrs to the boys and I hope they come home no worse for wear.

We just stopped by to read over everyone's 'Get Well Soon' comments, as Teri has been getting updates by phone from Rosemary and she spent a lot of time talking her through her fears last night while they were waiting at the emergency hospital. Just like Rosemary said last night, life without the boys would be hard to bear and we are sooo glad that all the tests are staying good and that the boys feel good and are interacting with all the staff and getting lots of TLC cuz they are so cute and sweet!

Rosemary, I am so glad to hear of their continued recovery! You are a pillar of strength not to go there. I suspect that seeing you there and if you were to only take Pierro home Miles would be distraught more than ever. You are being so wise even in the face of what must be overwhelming temptation to have at least one of your sons home. Giving you continued purrrayers for peace in your heart.

We came by for an update - thank goodness the boys are doing well in the hospital - it must help with them being next door to each other.
It must be so hard not to visit them today but we think you are right that it could upset them to be left behind again when you went home.
So many little things that you don't consider are often the things you miss most when they aren't there.
We are purring for them to both be back home with you very soon.

Amazing how quiet a house is when the furries are away. Glad they are doing well and there's no sign of kidney damage. There probably is less anxiety for them since they are there together. Hope they will be home soon!
