I am the mancat!
This week-end Miles and I helped mom make the famous peach cobbler
gramma made up this recipe way back in the olden days when mom was a wee tot and they had a peach tree in the yard, which yielded basketloads of peaches!
Miles: I am a Canmat-in-Braining and I am learning to be a mancat
Lookie, Me and Pierro are helpers
Here is the recipe.
you can print it out.
If you have trouble with the directions, just email my mom
She is never doing anything anyway, especially while we are napping
Pierro:
Bonks happy Monday
Miles: and BRONKIEBONK too

PEACH PIE:
Ingredients:
~1/2 cup white sugar
~1 and 1/2 sticks (so that would be 3/4 cup... as 8 tblsp are 1/2 cup=1 stick) of butter or margarine
~About 2 cups of Self Rising Flour
~1 medium egg
~A whole lot of peaches... 6-8 medium size
~for peaches in the bowl: another half cup sugar, cinnamon and Instant Vanilla Pudding (in it's dry state [don't make the pudding =D])
~a 9x9 square pyrex dish or something similar (2 quart) do not grease it
~Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Preparation:
~cut up the peaches into nice chunks not slices. 1 inch squares, bitesize...
~Put the peaches in a medium size bowl and set aside... this bowl is a little too small.
use a bigger bowl
~In a nice big bowl, mix together the butter and sugar until creamy then add the egg, mix.
~Add flour a little at a time, keep mixing in more until (it feels like playdoh) you can handle it with floured fingers.
~take about 1/5 of the dough off and save on a dry plate. (keep the flour out, you will need it)
~Press the rest of the dough evenly into the 9x9 dish.
~Set aside
~To the bowl of peaches, sprinkle 1/2 cup sugar and two Tablespoons Instant vanilla pudding, then toss gently with a spoon to sort of get them coated.
~Dump the peaches into the dish. Spread them around, if it is too high then use your hands (of course your hands are clean, we’re chefs here...) and gently push the peaches down so they are nice and cozy, especially the corners. If you have way too many and they are falling out... give them to hubby to eat (men never eat enough fruit)... you don't want the peaches falling out of the dish.
~Sprinkle with cinnamon, as much as you like.
~Divide the left over dough into 6 balls, then with flour make some strips, don’t try to get fancy, just kind of roll and mold something, flatten and lay it across the top. Use flour for easier handling. You should be able to get 3 going each way. Don’t bother weaving, no one will notice.
~BAKE for 50 minutes.
Refrigerate leftovers. This pie tastes really good for breakfast... if there is anything left.

Hi Kitties, you are great helpers in the kitchen too.
Your mom looks to be a really great cook, and she gives wonderful directions.
I'm not much of a baker, but if I was ever to try and make a pie, I bet it would turn out wonderful just following these steps, and the photos help alot.
I hope you have lots of peaches for breakfast and a fun day. Bonky Monday!
Oh, YUM! Our human will be printing this out; thank you!
That peach pie look great - mum is licking her lips reading the ingredients list. We don't think she would manage to do it on her own though so can your mom send Pierro and Miles over to snoopervise her please.
oh yummy, i got here just in time, my coffee is still hot! ha ha ha

Oh, our Mommy is dying here! She LOVES peaches. She will have to try this. It looks easy and she thinks we will do a great job inspecting the process, just like you two!
That looks yummy! don't you guys whap stuff on the floor when you help your mom? Or maybe steal the peaches? If not, our mom wants to know how your mom taught you guys not to. Because if she's cooking, me and EG have to go in the bedroom.
thank you for the recipe - Mama wants to try it.
Love,
Tazo
Pierro, that looks delicious. You and Miles did a good job helping your mom. You are lucky she is such a good cook!
good baking, boys!
That pie looks delicious! Wonder if it would work with other fruit? We have a TON of blackberries this year, and are trying to find ways to use them. We've frozed a bunch, but there are still more to eat.
Being a CM in B is obviously very hard work, Miles!
That peach cobbler looks delicious!
OH WOW! Looks super yummy!!!! Mom cant wait to try this recipe she's never had a grandma recipe before but hears wonderful things about them!
That looks delicious. You are very good helpers.
Fresh peaches are now available locally where we live, so your recipe is really timely -- thanks!
Wow, we are impressed you gorgeous boys help out in the kitchen!...Did your Mommy let you taste the peach cobbler?...It was very sweet of her to give us the recipe...Happy week handsome friends...kisses...Calle, Halle, Sukki
Hey Pierro!!!!!!!!
You and Miles are super duper helpers because that pie looks pawsome. Mom is getting the recipe!!
Pierro, you are doing an excellent job of training Miles to be a super Mancat!! Not that we evwr doubted you ;) heehee
Fenris said he would be happy to eat the leftover peaches. We are going to MEOW at our Mom to try that recipe.
The Human is not so good with the baking of things that have crusts, but she thinks that looks soooooo deelishus she might have to try it. When she was a wee tot (a long, long, looooooong time ago, there were two peach trees that yielded the finest peaches west of the Mississippi. Now she says you can't find one that holds a candle to those!
That looks absolutely yummy!!
Tasty!! Hi Pierro and Miles! It looks like you both did a super great job of helping your mom out!! And Miles, our baby sister Stella said she thinks you are a super cutie!! She hopes it is ok to tell you because you are both still just little kittens!
Yummy!! Yummy!! Mom and Dad love peach pie!! Do you think I could make a cricket pie??? Hehehehehe!!
Have a wonderful Wednesday Pierro and Miles!!
Howdy from your TX furiends,
That looks delicious - says our mom! We're not sure if we'd like to taste it but we surely would like to help our mom do it too.
